One response to “Talking down disability while talking down to young people”

I’m just reading this series, and it does have that and similar problems, at least in what I’ve read so far.

The books so far have ok, but not that great writing in general though (im my opinion, of course); in the writing itself but also plot development, the way characters react to one another, etc. I’ve spotted clichés in other places than the disabled character (though so far I have to agree that the books do not handle disabled characters and characters that are otherwise ‘marred’ very well in a way that does especially stand out to me). Also spots where I feel like the author made characters react incertain ways/do certain things just to steer the stories in certain directions, just so certain things could come to pass, counter to what they should be doing according to their personality, at least from the idea I got of their personality anyway.
