peanutbutter, “cosign” in this context was used in reference to cosigning a letter, rather than being a reference to sign language.

Excellent post. All too true – it can be hard enough standing up for my rather liberal views to my more conservative husband, so the thought of standing up to strangers is pretty terrifying! (I am a bit of a wuss though).
Doesn’t mean I shouldn’t do it though, right? Will try to put my money where my mouth is in future.

I have a *lot* of thoughts about communication from a deaf perspective. Should write them up sometime.

I don’t get “cosign” though. Did you just mean signing (as opposed to speaking)?

Hi, I did it. I met an amazing person just a few days ago, who was speaking up and telling people the words they were using were not OK.
